Myofascial Release

The John F. Barnes’ Myofascial Release Approach® is considered to be the ultimate therapy that is safe, gentle and consistently effective in producing results that last. This therapy will safely and gently release the entire Myofascial complex for lasting and comprehensive results and authentic healing. 

Trauma, inflammatory responses, and/or surgical procedures create Myofascial restrictions that can produce tensile pressures of approximately 2,000 pounds per square inch on pain sensitive structures that do not show up in many of the standard tests (x-rays, myelograms, CAT scans, electromyography, etc.) 

Myofascial Release Technique Self-care

Myofascial Release is a gentle, hands-on approach used to free up fascial restrictions throughout the body. As fascial layers are released the student gains greater flexibility. This results in decreased pain, enhanced daily functional abilities, refined athletic performance, increased ease of movement and improved structural balance and integrity.

There are four primary ways that Myofascial Stretching differs from traditional stretching: a longer time element of holding the stretch, active elongation, the need to be consciously present through the process of Myofascial Stretching, and the distinction that stretching and strengthening occur simultaneously.
